Happy Birthday Coco!

Today is Coco's birthday! She's 5 today.

When she was about a week old, we went to pick her out. She was seriously the size of a beanie baby! I wish she was still that little :) And look - she even stuck her tongue out when she was a baby!

Here's some pictures of her through the years.....

This was her on the day we actually brought her home!

She's seriously the craziest dog ever, but I don't know what I'd do without her!

Happy Birthday Coco :)

Happy Birthday Coco!

Today is my sweet puppy's birthday!

She turns 4 today, and I really can't believe it!

It seems like just yesterday I was picking her out.....

I never thought I would love a dog as much as I love Coco. She is absolutely psycho, but I wouldn't trade her for the world!

Happy Birthday my crazy puppy!

Spa Day #1: Pedicures

It's a spa week this week! My mom and I got pedicures today, and we are getting manicures on Friday. YAY!!

While I was getting ready this morning, I snapped some pictures of my dog - she was just looking way too cute! She really needs a haircut. Thank goodness she is getting one on Friday!

I loved getting pedicures this morning! My mom and I do it every summer, and I always look forward to it. This time I choose to do a silver base with a turquoise shatter. I am so obsessed with the shatter - especially this turquoise one!

We went out to lunch at Steak & Shake, stopped at the movie theater to buy Harry Potter premiere tickets :), and then stopped at Target. On the way home, we found this little cutie standing in the middle of the road. I'm not a big fan of deer, but baby deer are adorable!

Then I ran to Hobby Lobby, Michael's, and Target (again) with one of my friends. I came home to a nice dinner of......breakfast! I love having breakfast for dinner. My mom got creative and made mine Mickey Mouse shaped.

I love days like this!

The First Summer Weekend

I have been so bad about posting these last couple of days. I thought it was going to be easier to blog in the summer, but I just haven't been able to get around to it. The first few days of summer were actually pretty laid back.

My last day of school was on Thursday. I ended up eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner out! If this keeps up, my wallet and body won't be too happy with me - ha!

[How cute is this picture of my dog?]

Friday was another calm day. I went over my aunt's house to swim with my cousins. My family went out to eat at Outback, but other than that I didn't really do a whole lot!

Saturday was another relaxing day. It has been really nice to just kick back and relax. I haven't been bored at all, instead I've been content to not really do anything at all.

I finally got out of the house on Saturday night! I went to O'Charley's with my friends Ashley and Rachel. Afterwards we went to Target and the Pet Store. They came back to my house to play Scattergories and Clue. Then we drove to Speedway to get Icees. We ended up back at my house for a little while before they headed home. Crazy, crazy night! I tweeted that if this night was any indication as to how the rest of the summer is going to go, I think I'm in for a treat!

I know this post wasn't super exciting, but I've got a busy week coming up, so I should have some good blog posts coming up soon!

Hope you all are enjoying summer!

Cute Story

I read the cutest story today that I wanted to pass on. I don't know if it is true (I think it probably is since there was a picture attached to it), but either way it's really cute! Hope you enjoy:

[This was the picture attached to the story.]

Our 14-year-old dog Abbey died last month. The day after she passed away my 4-year-old daughter Meredith was crying and talking about how much she missed Abbey. She asked if we could write a letter to God so that when Abbey got to heaven, God would recognize her. I told her that I thought we could so, and she dictated these words:
Dear God,

Will you please take care of my dog? She died yesterday and is with you in heaven. I miss her very much. I am happy that you let me have her as my dog even though she got sick.

I hope you will play with her. She likes to swim and play with balls. I am sending a picture of her so when you see her you will know that she is my dog. I really miss her.

Love, Meredith

We put the letter in an envelope with a picture of Abbey and Meredith and addressed it to God/Heaven. We put our return address on it. Then Meredith pasted several stamps on the front of the envelope because she said it would take lots of stamps to get the letter all the way to heaven. That afternoon she dropped it into the letter box at the post office. A few days later, she asked if God had gotten the letter yet. I told her that I thought He had.

Yesterday, there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our front porch addressed, 'To Meredith' in an unfamiliar handwriting. Meredith opened it. Inside was a book by Mr. Rogers called, 'When a Pet Dies.' Taped to the inside front cover was the letter we had written to God in its opened envelope. On the opposite page was the picture of Abbey & Meredith and this note:

Dear Meredith,

Abbey arrived safely in heaven. Having the picture was a big help and I recognized her right away.

Abbey isn't sick anymore. Her spirit is here with me just like it stays in your heart. Abbey loved being your dog. Since we don't need our bodies in heaven, I don't have any pockets to keep your picture in so I am sending it back to you in this little book for you to keep and have something to remember Abbey by.

Thank you for the beautiful letter and thank your mother for helping you write it and sending it to me. What a wonderful mother you have. I picked her especially for you. I send my blessings every day and remember that I love you very much. By the way, I'm easy to find. I am wherever there is love.

Love,
God

Seriously, how cute was that? I'm a sucker for cute dog stories :)

Snowed In

Today school was called off, and we are snowed in! The snow just keeps coming down, and it doesn't look like it's going to stop anytime soon - I'm wondering if we are going to be called off school again tomorrow!

It's been a lazy day, aside from shoveling the driveway. Which I haven't done in a long time, and it was exhausting!

But since I don't have much to do today, I decided to break out the nice camera and take some pictures!

I love this one:

Fall Days

Well, I thought I would write a little recap of what has been going on the last couple of days....

Saturday was a CRAZY day. My mom and I brought lunch to my grandpa, and he was super confused. He was having trouble understanding a lot of things. And then that night, he continued to get even more confused. So, at the last minute my parents decided to spend the night with him, and I had to find a place to go for the night. I ended up going to my aunt and uncle's house, who have a guest room that I get all to myself :) But anyway, I ended up having fun at their house, and my grandpa has gotten better, so that's a good thing!

On Sunday I had to go to school to work an event. It ended up being kind of fun, especially since our principal pulled out her secret stash of candy...... :)

Sunday night we went to my cousin's soccer game, which was SO much fun. I just think 4 year olds running around playing soccer is just too cute! My family went out to dinner afterwards too.

I was off school on Monday because of a teacher in-service day, which was great! My mom and I went out to the mall and did some shopping, but we didn't buy anything! I was really surprised, especially since I actually had some money to shop! However, my mom figured out what's at the top of her Christmas list....

A STUFFED ANIMAL GOAT. It plays the Lonely Goatherd song from The Sound of Music.

I personally think it's dumb, but she is seriously in love with it!

Today was a testing day in school, so we got out at 11! YAY for short days and short weeks!

And on a completely different note, I'm really into digital scrapbooking lately! I think it is SO fun :) I've been downloading some free kits and stuff to get me started, and I really like it. So far I've made this.....

I think it turned out really cute, and I had so much fun doing it :)

Look Who's Here!

It's the one and only....

......CRICKET! Ha, we just got her today, and we will be dog sitting her until next Monday, I think. So, we've got a week with her :) She is a really good dog, especially when Coco acts like a bully toward her. Coco really loves to steal Cricket's food.... But anyway, I'm looking forward to watching her this week!

But I guess I should go back in time and write about the weekend! Yes, it was the first weekend since school started, and it was well needed. I really needed to catch up on some sleep, and I did just that :)

Well, Friday night was the first Elder football game. So, I went up to the game with a lot of my friends, and we had fun even though we were all about to fall asleep - ha! I always associate fall with football games. I'm not a huge fan of football, but I love going to the games with my friends and just walking around talking and stuff.

And then Saturday was just a big old lazy day. I hardly did anything all day, but it was kind of nice. I slept in until 10:45, which is really late for me, but I was exhausted. Then most of the day was spent doing homework. Yes, on the 3rd day of school I had a LOT of homework. It's ridiculous. But in the afternoon I got out and went to Michaels, Hobby Lobby, and Target with my Mom. I had a lot of art supplies to get, and I got some new pajamas for the Garage Getdown dance, which is next week already.

On Saturday night I just stayed home with my parents. I made a smoothie:

And I had to put it in our bling-bling glass (as we call it). We sat outside for a little while and talked to our neighbor. Then we watched some Dog the Bounty Hunter, which I surprisingly enjoyed - ha!

Today was another fairly lazy day. More homework, more homework, and more homework. But we did get out to go to LaRosa's for dinner :) And then Dad and I baked some pumpkin bread - which smells delicious right now! I also got around to trying out a new hair product tonight. I saw it in a magazine, and I've been wanting to try it. I finally found it at Target, and put it to the test today.

You have to keep it on your hair for 20 minutes, and then rinse it & put more stuff on it, and then style it normally. It's supposed to reduce frizz, and it seems to be working alright :) It's also supposed to last for 7 shampoos, so I'll have to see how my hair cooperates this week!

I'm definitely not looking to a full week of school this week. I seem to dread going to school this year - I think it's because it is so much harder already.
