YOU:create

I haven't participated in YOU:create in a long time, but I thought I would link up today! I don't have a whole lot to show today, but I do have a scrapbook page that I recently made.

"There are two ways to look at life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is." - Albert Einstein

(and yes, I did include a quote from one of the Friday giveaways. I LOVE those quotes!)

My family recently went and got our Christmas card pictures taken, and I am loving them this year! You can see all the rest of them here.

YOU:create

Once again, I am linking up to Gitzen Girl's blog! This week I actually have 2 different things that I made.

The first one is an oil pastel art project. I decided to work off of a picture that I took on an airplane a few years ago. This is the original picture:

And this is my artwork:

I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out, especially since it took me forever to do all of the clouds and everything....

And the other thing I tried out was digital scrapbooking. I know I posted about this in my last post, but it fits the YOU:create, so I thought I would post it again. I've pretty new to digital scrapbooking, but it is a lot of fun!

This is a page of pictures of my dog, Coco.

YOU:create

I'm really happy that YOU:create is back this week because I've had my project done for a few days now!

Once again, my project this week is one that I made in my art class. The assignment was to do a hands drawing, while adding in another object that the hands were holding.

I drew my hands holding those letter blocks. I was trying to figure out a good word to spell out, and I eventually decided to go with PEACE. I really like peace, for obvious reasons, but I especially like it because I love the song Peace by Christa Black. I couldn't find a youtube video of it to post, but if you haven't heard it, check it out on iTunes. It is such a great song!

So, head on over to Gitzen Girl's blog and check out the other YOU:create projects today!

YOU:create

So, I've missed the last couple YOU:create's because I've been busy, and I just haven't been able to make something creative! But I finally did one again this week.

It's an artwork that I had to do for my art class, and the entire time I was working on it, I thought it would be a good thing to use for this week!

It might be a little difficult to see, but clicking on it should make it bigger. The whole idea for this artwork was a summer theme as kind of a close to summer :( The background is a summer still-life that my art teacher set up. There is a bucket, a bottle of bubbles, and a flip-flop. Then I wrote over top of it the words, summer time. The background is all black and white, and the words kind of bring out the color, since I only colored the sections of the objects that fell inside one of the letters. Like I said, it is EXTREMELY hard to see. And even in real life it is a little abstracted and you really have to think about it while looking at it! But I had a fun time creating it, which is what this whole YOU:create thing is all about :)

My First YOU: Create Post!

I've never participated in YOU:create before, but I decided to do it this week! I'm pretty new to blogging, and I've really just gotten into it the last couple of weeks. So if it looks like I'm new to this, that's because I am :)

I decided to make a collage of some of my pictures from this summer as my first YOU: create project. I used the month doodles in it as well!

Here is a little explanation about each of the pictures I selected:

In June, I went to the Jordin Sparks concert, and went to Florida. So, I included pictures of that.

In July, I went to Washington DC, and I added a picture of my dog & I on the 4th of July :)

And in August I took my little cousin to Build-A-Bear. I also went to the Jonas Brothers and Rascal Flatts concerts, so the last 2 pictures were taken at those concerts.

Like I said, I've never done anything like this before, so I just wanted to try it out! And with summer coming to a close, I thought making a nice, cute, summer collage would be appropriate!
