Tuesday's List: Halloween Traditions

This week's Tuesday's List topic is Halloween traditions! I love Halloween, and I think it is such a fun holiday.

1. Costumes
When I was younger I loved to dress up, but it gets harder and harder every year. For the past 2 years I've worn the same fairy costume.

I love this costume, but I am getting a little tired of wearing it - ha!

Here I am wearing the costume 2 years ago:

Here I am wearing it last year:

And I also wore it this past weekend for a Halloween party.

I've been dying to dress my dog up for Halloween, but I never have. She has a Halloween bandana that she wears though.

2. Candy
To me, the candy is the best part of Halloween :) I love candy (probably too much).

My favorite candy is Milky Way Midnight. They are SO good, but a lot of stores don't sell them that much, so I never see people giving them out for Halloween.

I also love Starburst.

And Reese Cups :)

3. Traditions
I don't have a lot of Halloween traditions, other than carving pumpkins.

The past few years I've gone to my friends' house for parties. I've also gone trick-or-treating with my little cousins before. I'm hoping to do that again this year since Halloween is on a Sunday night.

My friend had a big Halloween party 2 years ago, and that was one of the best Halloweens ever!

This was last Halloween at one of my other friend's house:

Who knows what Halloween this year will bring....?

Brown County

This weekend my Mom's side of the family went to Brown County in Indiana. I had a TON of fun. This fall trip has become a little tradition, and I look forward to it every year. Everyone always has a lot of fun, but it always goes way too fast :/ We got there on Friday night and just hung around the hotel.

Maddie, Sydney, and I. Maddie's face cracks me up here :)

We went to dinner at the restaurant in the hotel, and then just hung out in the hallway and in every one's room. I mainly played with Sydney and Casey.

Their faces crack me up here. Can you tell they were having a good time??

Sydney and Casey again:

On Saturday we got up and went to breakfast at McDonald's. Then we headed out to the outlets! YAY! I was SO excited because I actually had money to spend, and it was burning a hole in my pocket. Unfortunately, I only bought 2 things! I couldn't believe it. Doesn't it always seem that when you actually have money, you can never find anything you like? Well I did end up getting a scarf at Banana Republic, and a headband at J.Crew. I normally don't wear headbands, but I love this one.

After the outlets we headed into town and just walked around there. They have a lot of cute little shops and crafty stuff, but it was crazy crowded. You could barely walk on the sidewalks. But we did end up getting a cute cute that we are going to hang up in our family room. I LOVE this quote!

My dad and I in a little swing we found....

We came back to the hotel room to rest for a little bit, and I ended up falling asleep! I was SO tired. But once I woke up I decided to take a picture of this cookie jar we brought with us. Now there is a story behind the cookie jar. My grandma used to have this cookie jar when I was a little girl, and she always had it filled with those iced animal cookies. After she died, I took the cookie jar and it has sat in our basement ever since. Well, my mom thought it would be a good idea to get it out this weekend and fill it with the same cookies my grandma used to fill it with. The cookies brought back a lot of good memories for me :)

And since I am a total dork, I took a video of me opening the jar....

Saturday night we got a conference room all to ourselves and ordered pizza. We had a Halloween party, and all of the kids dressed up in their costumes and went trick-or-treating.

Everyone in their costumes:

Catie and myself in our costumes ;)

All of the grandchildren (who were on the trip) with my grandpa.

We bought Halloween silly bands for the kids, but I had to steal a witch one for myself....

After our party, we sat in the hall for a little while and just talked and laughed. Sometimes having fun with your family is EXACTLY what you need :) This morning we got up (a little earlier than I would have liked) and went to breakfast in town. After breakfast we stopped by a little park in the town and took some pictures.

I think this one of Maddie & I is really cute!

Maddie loves to stick her tongue out for pictures - ha!

My family <3

After our photo-op, we all just kind of went home. There isn't a whole lot to do in town, and we had hit everything the day before.

I just made this collage, and I had to add it to this post!

I LOVE these weekends though because I think they are just too fun. I love being with my family, and I always laugh SO much when I'm with them. I wouldn't trade these moments for anything.

Tuesday's List: Fall Fashions

Once again, I'm linking up with Jessica at Love from Texas for her Tuesday's List!

This week's topic is on fall fashions, so I just HAD to link up since I absolutely love fashions & the season of fall!

1. SCARVES
By far, scarves are my FAVORITE fall fashion item. I love, love, love them! Every time I go to the store, all I want to buy is scarves.

I recently bought this one at New York & Company in silver, which I love.

And even though I don't have a Burberry scarf, I do have a knock-off one in this style:

And I could go on and on with a list of scarves I think are super cute :)

2. Boots
I also love boots! They are basically all I wear in the fall and winter.

I love my pair of EMU's that I got for Christmas a few years ago......

These boots are also perfect because they go with everything.

Boots are super cute with a pair of skinny jeans or leggings.

3. Tunics
Tunics + Leggings + Boots = super cute (and comfortable) fall outfit!

I have this tunic sweater in purple, and I just LOVE it!

I also really like this one too:

4. Jewelry
I'm not sure this entirely counts, since jewelry isn't necessarily just a fall thing, but I found this really cool new jewelry store that has really got me hooked on jewelry! Charming Charlie is a store that has just opened close to where I live, and let me tell you, I am hooked! I don't know where all of their locations are, but if they have one near you, you should seriously consider checking it out. You can find their locations here.

They sell a bunch of different things, but they have a TON of jewelry. As in, you need a necklace to go with a new outfit, you will be able to find the perfect one there.

I am loving these kinds of necklaces. Ones with ribbons, bows, or flowers are just too cute!

I am so proud of myself because I've got this post together and it's only Monday night! I've been really busy, but I HAD to participate this week because I love fashion! I can't wait to see everyone else's favorite fall fashion picks :)

'Cause I'm Livin' In Fast Forward

Have you ever heard that Kenny Chesney song about livin' in fast forward? Yeah, well that is exactly how I feel lately.

Every day seems to go by faster than I can blink! It seems like I'm constantly thinking how is it already Monday?, how is it already Tuesday?, how is it already Wednesday?, and on, and on. For the past month or so time has been flying!

In one way, I like being busy because I'm hardly ever bored. But on the other hand, I would love for everything to slow down just a little :)

School has been crazy & I feel like I almost always have some test to study for, some pages to read for World Cultures, or some math page to finish. To say that I go to bed exhausted every night would be an understatement.

And, to top it all off, the next 2 weeks are going to be a blur as well. I start drivers ed tomorrow (which I can't even believe. I feel like I should still be in 4th grade or something!). The classes last 3 HOURS! And it after school Monday-Thursday. I am going to be super busy with school, drivers ed, and homework over the next 2 weeks. I am seriously tired just thinking about it.....

And speaking of this crazy week, I need to get some sleep :) I hope everyone has a great week!

YOU:create

Once again, I am linking up to Gitzen Girl's blog! This week I actually have 2 different things that I made.

The first one is an oil pastel art project. I decided to work off of a picture that I took on an airplane a few years ago. This is the original picture:

And this is my artwork:

I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out, especially since it took me forever to do all of the clouds and everything....

And the other thing I tried out was digital scrapbooking. I know I posted about this in my last post, but it fits the YOU:create, so I thought I would post it again. I've pretty new to digital scrapbooking, but it is a lot of fun!

This is a page of pictures of my dog, Coco.

To see all of the other participants this week, go here!

Fall Days

Well, I thought I would write a little recap of what has been going on the last couple of days....

Saturday was a CRAZY day. My mom and I brought lunch to my grandpa, and he was super confused. He was having trouble understanding a lot of things. And then that night, he continued to get even more confused. So, at the last minute my parents decided to spend the night with him, and I had to find a place to go for the night. I ended up going to my aunt and uncle's house, who have a guest room that I get all to myself :) But anyway, I ended up having fun at their house, and my grandpa has gotten better, so that's a good thing!

On Sunday I had to go to school to work an event. It ended up being kind of fun, especially since our principal pulled out her secret stash of candy...... :)

Sunday night we went to my cousin's soccer game, which was SO much fun. I just think 4 year olds running around playing soccer is just too cute! My family went out to dinner afterwards too.

I was off school on Monday because of a teacher in-service day, which was great! My mom and I went out to the mall and did some shopping, but we didn't buy anything! I was really surprised, especially since I actually had some money to shop! However, my mom figured out what's at the top of her Christmas list....

A STUFFED ANIMAL GOAT. It plays the Lonely Goatherd song from The Sound of Music.

I personally think it's dumb, but she is seriously in love with it!

Today was a testing day in school, so we got out at 11! YAY for short days and short weeks!

And on a completely different note, I'm really into digital scrapbooking lately! I think it is SO fun :) I've been downloading some free kits and stuff to get me started, and I really like it. So far I've made this.....

I think it turned out really cute, and I had so much fun doing it :)

YOU:create

I'm really happy that YOU:create is back this week because I've had my project done for a few days now!

Once again, my project this week is one that I made in my art class. The assignment was to do a hands drawing, while adding in another object that the hands were holding.

I drew my hands holding those letter blocks. I was trying to figure out a good word to spell out, and I eventually decided to go with PEACE. I really like peace, for obvious reasons, but I especially like it because I love the song Peace by Christa Black. I couldn't find a youtube video of it to post, but if you haven't heard it, check it out on iTunes. It is such a great song!

So, head on over to Gitzen Girl's blog and check out the other YOU:create projects today!

Tuesday's List: DVR

I LOVE participating in Tuesday's List ever since I started last week!

This week's topic is DVR shows. I surprisingly don't watch a ton of TV because I am usually so busy. But these are the shows I like to watch when I find time...

1. Grey's Anatomy

No matter what is going on, I HAVE to watch Grey's every Thursday. This is my absolute favorite show. (And last year's season finale was crazy!) This is really the only show I watch consistently.

2. The Biggest Loser

I missed the last season, but I watched it the season before that, and I love this show! I'm trying to watch it again this season, but it is on right now, and I'm blogging and working on homework instead of watching it.....

3. What Not to Wear

This is one of my favorites too! Clinton Kelly also came to the Macy's near me last spring, and I got to see him in person! I always think that's cool whenever I watch this show :)

4. Say Yes to the Dress

I love the original show, and the one in Atlanta. I think any kind of wedding shows are fun to watch!

5. Cupcake Wars

This show is super fun to watch as well! I LOVE cupcakes. And this show is just about as good as it gets when it comes to cupcakes. Aside from the fact that I always get SUPER hungry whenever I watch it....

Wow, for not watching a lot of TV, I sure came up with quite a few TV shows I watch/DVR. I like to watch TV, but I'm busy a lot of the time and have trouble catching them/keeping up with them.
