Family, Shopping, and Shoes

Hey guys! I hope you had a really good weekend, because I know I did!

On Friday night I went out to dinner with my aunts and cousins to celebrate my cousin's birthday. It was so fun! We ended up meeting at a restaurant called Bronte, which was actually inside a bookstore!

After we ate, we went to the children's section of the bookstore to look around. It was SO crazy. We were all walking around, laughing, and tossing little balls back and forth. We thought we were going to get thrown out of there :)

Then we went and walked over to Nordstrom Rack for a little bit until it closed. I love that store!

Saturday night I went out to the mall with my friend Danielle. I had so much fun eating Chick-fil-a and then walking around and shopping. It was a really successful shopping trip too! Both Danielle and I found some cute things!

I got 2 new pairs of shoes too that I am obsessed with. I hardly ever buy new shoes, so I think I'm totally set for summer now. But seriously, how cute are both of these pairs that I got?

I love those wedges - they're super cute and actually really comfortable. If you're looking for a comfy pair of wedges - check them out. I'm obsessed!

Sign of a successful and fun shopping trip! I got a lot of good deals too :)

Today has been a little bit more of a laid-back day. We went to visit my grandpa in the hospital this morning, and then my mom and I hit Target and Kroger's this afternoon. Tonight we went to Five Guys for dinner - so yum!

I'm going on retreat this week, so I've only got 2 days of school. I think I can handle that - ha! I'm a little nervous but I'm excited to have a little break from the routine of school :)

I hope you all have a great start to your week.

Better Late Than Never....

Normally I love to post What I'm Loving Wednesdays, but I just didn't have time this week. My posting has really been lacking because I've just been so busy!

This week is the end of the 3rd quarter, so I had a test, quiz, and/or project due in every subject. Ughh.... I'm so glad this week is just about over though! I should have a few easy weeks ahead of me thankfully!

So, before this week is totally over, I just wanted to drop in and post some random things about this week. Basically, a What I'm Loving Wednesday post.....but on Friday :)

First off, I flipped out when Norfolk actually beat Missouri last week because....I actually picked that! I'm not a big basketball fan, but I love filling out a bracket every year just to see how well I do, and my family has a competition where the loser has to buy everyone else ice cream. It's a nice incentive, even if you do lose!

My favorite creamy whip opened in early March, and although I've been a few times already, this week we went, and it was actually warm enough to eat outside! It was awesome :)

Speaking of weather, it's been absolutely beautiful around here. In fact, it's just been hot. I've had to turn on the AC in my car a few days this week. Crazy for March!

I'm totally loving this article I found on Pinterest about 20 iPhone tips & tricks. I totally thought I knew everything about my phone, but apparently not! If you have an iPhone, check out the article - I learned some new things!

My family went out to eat at The Farm last night for my dad's best friend's birthday. The Farm is a banquet hall that I used to always go to in grade school for sports banquets or whatever. I've never gone there except for a special occasion, so it was kind of fun! My dad's friend has 2 kids, Sydney and Riley, and I had so much fun playing with them last night! They were running around and cracking me up :)

I am literally SO relieved that this week is over! And, I only have a 2 day week of school next week. Yay!

Gorgeous Weather

For once I finally had a somewhat laid-back weekend! It's been a little less hectic than the last few weekends, but I've still been pretty busy!

On Friday night I went with my parents over their friends' house for a bonfire. It was fun because when it was dark we all sat around and told ghost stories - ha!

I thought this picture of the fire turned out kind of neat :)

I finally got to sleep in on Saturday for the first time in a few weeks. It felt SO good!

In the afternoon, we went to the hospital to visit my grandpa. He's been in the hospital for the last few days because of a really bad infection in his toe. It looks like he's going to be fine, but would you mind saying an extra prayer for him?

I took this picture in the lobby before we headed up!

Then we went to see my cousin's new dog, Porter. Isn't he just the cutest little thing?

I had wanted to go to the mall on Saturday night, but all of my friends were busy, which was a little disappointing, but I ended up having fun with my family. We went out to an outdoor shopping place called Rookwood, and we tried a new restaurant out called the Rusty Bucket. It was pretty good!

Then we walked around, shopped a little bit, and got Yagoot :)

Today has been a homework day :/ I've got a lot of tests coming up this week, and I just kept putting everything off yesterday, so I've had a lot to catch up on.

It's been an absolutely gorgeous day here though! When we went to visit my grandpa again today, I took these pictures as we were heading out because I thought this tree was so pretty!

It looks like it's going to be in the 80s this week around here. Wahoo! Is it really only March? It feels more like it's June. I'm loving it!

Real Life {Time}

Every once in awhile I like to take a little break from posting about my life so that I can do a post about my thoughts about life.

So, be ready for a super random, fly-by-the seat of your pants kind of post....

I'm trying to figure out how I went from this.....

....to this?

I guess what I'm trying to say is, I don't like the fact that I'm growing up so fast.

I'm seriously having a hard time accepting the fact that this time next year I'll be getting ready to graduate and go off to college. I practically shut down anytime someone asks me what my plans are for college because I'm in denial that I'm old enough to be looking into that.

I'm in denial that I'm old enough to drive a car.

I'm in denial that in a few years, I'll be a legal adult.

Heck, I'm in denial that we are studying World War 2 in my American History class. It seems like just yesterday that we were starting out in 1492, and now we're almost done!

I have mixed feelings about this year to be honest. Everyone has told me that junior year is the hardest, and although it has been much more difficult than the last few years, I don't think it's as bad as I had expected. Sure, I have more homework and I have to work harder, but this year hasn't been impossible for me.

With that being said, in one way I'll be glad when this year is over if it really is one of the hardest years academic-wise. But on the other hand, I really don't want to leave high school, as silly as it sounds!

I had a really good day today at school. Nothing was over-the-top great, but it was just one of those "good" days. In my last 2 classes, we didn't do a whole lot since we had a quiz and an essay due, so we all just hung out for a little while and watched a little bit of the NCAA tournament. We were all laughing, being goofy, and simply getting along great with everyone. The group of girls that are in most of my classes never get into crazy drama. I've never experienced anything except kindness from the girls in my classes.

I couldn't help but look around today and realize how great I've got it. I genuinely like all of the girls who are in the majority of my classes. And I thought about how this time with all of these nice and sweet girls won't last forever.

My mom ran into a girl she went to high school the other day, and I thought about how weird it is that I might not see some of the girls I currently see everyday until 20 years down the road. And that makes me really sad.

I know that there are great things that will happen to me in the future, but a part of me really doesn't want to leave all of the great things now.

So I guess I'll just have to make memories and savor the moments that I do have. Because I do still have 1 more year.

Is it just me, or does anyone else get a little sad when you realize how a good chapter of your life is numbered and won't last that much longer?

Sorry this wasn't the most cheerful post, but this has been on my mind lately, and I just wanted to share. Have a great Friday!

What I'm Loving Wednesday {Spring Edition}

It has been SO gorgeous around here, that I thought I'd dedicate most of this post to what I'm loving about spring!

I'm loving that these are the temperatures for this week. I'm loving that it's going to be in the 70's all week!

I'm loving that it was actually hot when I got into my car yesterday afternoon. I turned the air conditioning on for a few minutes to cool it down before I opened the windows. It made me SO happy!

I'm loving that I went down to the park last night to walk. There were so many people down there because it was so gorgeous!

I'm loving summer songs! I have a really old summer cd in my car that I've been listening to the past few days, but I think I'm going to have to make up a new one soon. I'll post the playlist when I finally get around to it!

I'm loving this quote I found on Pinterest. The other day I woke up and heard birds chirping, and it made me so happy!

I'm loving that I'm bringing a sundress and flip flops to change into after school. I could really get used to living with these temperatures all year long!

And here are some other non-spring related things I'm loving this week......

I'm loving that we've got my favorite 2 flavors of ice cream in the entire world in my house right now. Yummy!

I'm loving that I'm going to a jewelry party tonight!

.......................................................

Happy Wednesday! I can't wait to get out and enjoy this weather myself!
