Happy Halloween!

Can you believe it's Halloween already? I seriously can't! It will be Christmas before we know it! I've been so terribly busy these last few days/weeks/months :) that I haven't had time to blog (I feel like I'm always saying that). I've got a lot to catch up on too!

On Thursday night, I worked my school's open house. It was fun, but very tiring because I had to lead about 4 families on an hour tour of the school, and I was beat by the time I left.

We were off school on Friday, and I ended up not having to babysit, which was nice. That morning I decided to take some scary Halloween pictures. Our neighbors have a really creepy display, so I took some pictures of it :)

This one's my favorite!

My mom and I went out to the mall to do a little shopping on Friday too. I got a cute new shirt and an awesome bottle of nail polish. You all need to check out OPI's DS line. I have no idea what the DS stands for (maybe designer series?), but the colors are great! I got the DS Reflection, and it is a really pretty, smooth, and super sparkly pink color. I'm obsessed with it!

On Friday night I met my friend Rachel at Panera. I love Panera when it starts to cold out.

Most of my Saturday was spent making Halloween cake pops! I made ghosts, and I think they turned out really cute!

On Saturday night, I went to a pumpkin carving party. It was so fun, but I forgot to take a picture of all the pumpkins we carved!

On Sunday, my family went to brunch, and that night I went to my cousin's birthday party. I brought my cake pops and they were a hit! It was fun getting to catch up with some of family who I don't get to see a lot :)

Now, I've got a very tragic story to tell you. My hair is naturally frizzy and wavy. I honestly hate it. So, I normally straighten my hair every day. Well, last night I took a shower and started to straighten my hair. I got about halfway done, and I noticed that my hair wasn't actually straightening anymore. My straightener wasn't hot! It was completely dead, and I'm so upset about it. I've had that straightener for over 3 years, and I use it every single day. I have a bit of an emotional attachment to it. So, RIP my poor Bed Head Straightener :(

So now I have to get a new one, and I have no idea which one to get! What kind of straightener do you have? I was thinking of getting a Chi, but if you have a different brand and love it, let me know!

Have a great Halloween :)

Brown County 2011

I had such a great weekend! I honestly wish I could rewind and do it all over again :)

The school day on Friday was awesome too! As in, I had no tests or quizzes, and I hardly did anything all day. It was definitely the easiest day we've had so far this year, and it felt good to finally have a relaxing day. A lot of people were missing in our classes because they were leading a Freshman reflection day, so none of our teachers wanted to do much, which was totally alright with me!

My parents picked me up from school, and we headed out of town! Every year my mom's side of the family takes an out-of-town trip in the fall, and we went to Brown County this year, which is where we have been going the last few years. It is always such a fun weekend that I look forward to so much.

We had bought a fun Halloween bowling game on Thursday, which we brought and was a hit on Friday night!

We went out to dinner to Ruby Tuesday's that night.

Maddie & I at dinner:

Our hotel this year was in walking distance to the outlet malls (you know I loved that!). After dinner, we walked over there to "plan our strategy" aka figure out what stores we wanted to go to on Saturday!

Then we headed back to the hotel and painted our nails for Halloween!

On Saturday, we got up early to eat breakfast and hit the outlets! I had saved up money for awhile, and I'm so glad I did because I ended up finding so many cute things! I spent all of my money except for $6 :)

We got some chocolate at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, and then got to shopping. I've got to share some of the things I bought because I'm so excited about them. I had a bit of a sparkle theme - almost everything I bought had something sparkly on it!

I got this super cute shirt at Ann Taylor. I also got a long sleeve shirt to go over it, but I don't have a picture of it....

I love this cardigan I got at Loft!

At first I passed this scarf by, but then when I realized I had enough money to buy it, I totally went back for it, and I'm glad I did. I have a serious scarf problem :)

I also got 2 other shirts for $10 a piece! I haven't done that much shopping in a long time, and it felt really good. There's nothing better than retail therapy!

After shopping, we ate lunch at Subway and then headed into the park to take some pictures.

My parents and I headed into town after this, which has a lot of cute artisan/crafty stores. It was so crowded though that we pretty much just got ice cream and left!

When we got back to our hotel, we had a pizza party in the lobby!

Sas didn't want to get her picture taken - she was trying to cover her face :)

After we ate, all of the kids dressed up in their Halloween costumes, and we passed out candy and treats.

Maddie is being Jessie for Halloween!

Sas is being a mean bee. Here she is stinging me :)

My cousin Andrew is being Elvis. I think he totally looks the part!

We got up pretty early this morning to head back home. This weekend went way too fast. I wish I could rewind it and do it all over again. It was way too fun :)

Hope you all had a great weekend and an even better week!

Inspirational Quotes: Part 1

I love reading inspirational quotes, and I'm going to dedicate a few posts to some of my favorites!

"The secret of victorious Christian living is to go through each day praising for everything - the bad things as well as the good." - Hannah Hurnard

"There's always a reason. There's always a reason for behavior you don't understand. There's a lifetime behind someone's actions, and yet, so many times, we find it justifiable to judge and accuse the actions we see from afar." - Christa Black

"Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is. The way we cope with it is what makes the difference." - Virginia Satir

"The journey is the destination. The process you're in is the goal. Success is never defined by the outcome, but by the process." - Paul Young

Those are some of my favorite quotes. They really make me think!

WILW

This week has been a crazy, stressful week. I've been blog slacking this week, but I wanted to be sure I posted what I'm loving today!

I'm loving that I didn't have to work on Monday. It was a nice surprise!

I'm loving that I have a late start today at school, and classes are really short!

I'm loving my plans for the weekend. I can't wait to tell you about it next week!

I'm loving my puppy. She's just been so sweet this week!

I'm loving that a big test got postponed until next week!

I'm loving that this week is already halfway over. It's been a busy week for me!

I'm loving that my new boots came in yesterday!
I've got to tell you - I've wanted a pair of Uggs forever, and I'm so excited that I decided to save up my money to buy a pair myself. :)

I hope you all have a great Wednesday!

Boring Post

I'm just going to warn you ahead of time - this might be the most boring blog post ever, simply because I really didn't do a whole lot this weekend, and I only have 1 picture that I took.

On Friday I went to the Elder football game, which is the all boys high school next to my school. This was the first one I went to all year, and I'm glad I did. It was fun to hang with my friends and some other people too! Afterwards we went to Skyline to eat. Then we ended up at my friend Abby's house. We decided to watch a scary movie, and we ended up watching Mary Lou Prom Night 2. It was a really weird movie! I wouldn't say it was super scary, just crazy and demented. I'm not sure I would recommend it!

On Saturday I met my cousins for lunch at Subway, and then I came home and worked on homework pretty much all afternoon. My parents went to a wedding, so I was on my own for dinner. I found this new smoothie thing in my freezer that was pretty much my dinner. It's really weird. All you do is add some juice to this container of fruit and yogurt, shake it up, and it turns into a smoothie. I thought it was really good!

Then my friend Erin and I went to Orange Leaf, which is a frozen yogurt place. This was my second time going there, and I tried something different and liked it so much better. Now I'm totally obsessed with this place! It's really fun - you pick out what flavor frozen yogurt you want. They've got tons of flavors!

Then you put whatever toppings you want on top. I got brownie batter yogurt, topped with Oreos and carmel. Yum!

Today was a rough day for me. The only time I left my house was to go to church. Other than that I have been working on homework all day. So not fun! I'm pretty sure I worked on homework for 12+ hours this weekend. This is going to be a rough week for me! I'm so not looking forward to it.

I wish I would have done some more fun things this weekend to blog about, but it just didn't happen. I've got a super fun weekend coming up next week that I'm so excited about. It's what will get me through this week :) I can't wait to tell you all about it next weekend!

Have a great week :)
