I have been missing in action the last couple of days because I was in Washington DC for the March for Life! I went through school, and 2 of my friends went on the trip too. It was a ton of fun, and I've got a lot of blogging to do about it ;) I was just in DC about 6 months ago, so I didn't take a ton of pictures, so you can see more DC pictures
here from July.
We left on Saturday night and drove through the night. I slept terrible. The temperatures were all out of whack. It was really hot to begin with, and then it was unbelievably cold. Once we got the temperature under control I was able to sleep, but by then I only got 2 hours of decent sleep.
When we got to DC, we went straight to the Basilica for mass.
The Washington Monument:
Then we headed to the Holocaust Museum. I really enjoyed that, and I wish we would have had more time in there. Somehow my friends and I missed the main exhibit, but everything else we saw was really neat. The only bad thing was that we had to wait about 45 minutes to get in there, and we couldn't take pictures of anything in the museum!
After the Holocaust Museum, we went on a little tour of the monuments. I was so frozen I hardly took any pictures :/
We went to Union Station for dinner, it was great! We decided to eat at Uno's and it was the best meal I had the entire trip. It was funny because the 3 of us each got our own pizza, so we had an excessive amount of pizza left over. :)
Then it was time to head to the hotel and sleep, which I needed desperately.
In the morning we packed up and headed to the American History Museum.
I had gone to the museum in July, but we found an exhibit I didn't get to see last time that was really neat. We had a lot of fun taking pictures with the statues - ha!
Next was the actual march! I thought it was great how many people were there, and I think it was such a great cause.
It was time to head home after the march :/ Overall, the weekend was a lot of fun. The ride home was long, and my dinner wasn't too great - cinnamon rolls and a smoothie ;) And now I'm kind of obsessed with this stuff.....
Well, I'm not looking forward to facing my alarm clock tomorrow morning. I haven't been to school in almost a week!
