One Year Ago.......

Just a quick note - this post is more for me than anyone else. I'm not sure anyone else will find this post that exciting ;)
As I begin to type this post, I am sitting in Art class. It's January 13, 2011. I have just finished exams, and have nothing better to do than sit on my computer.

This time, 1 year ago:
I was sitting in Art class. It was actually January 15, 2010  I had just finished exams, and I was doing exactly what I am right now: sitting on my computer. So, I decided to send an e-mail to my mom. I asked her if she would take me and my friend to see Nick Jonas over the weekend. To be honest, I was being silly. Of course I wanted to go, but I never thought it would actually happen.

Instead, I got home from school. I was upstairs skyping with some friends when my mom told me to come downstairs. My dad was on the phone and he told me that we were actually going to the concert! I honestly don't think I have ever been so shocked and excited in my entire life.

I also don't think I have ever had as great of a weekend as I did that weekend. It was the perfect blend of surprise, excitement, sightseeing, and shopping. And not to mention it was an added bonus that Nick sang to us outside. And I was pretty much directly in front of him. January 17, 2010 was a day that was perfect (aside from being unbelievably cold out in Chicago!)

I think it's funny how much things can change in a year. Now I'm sitting here, in Art class, and I don't know what I'm doing this weekend. Even though I know for sure it won't involve going to Chicago or seeing Nick Jonas :( I feel like a lot of things have changed this year. There are days when I wish I could just go back in time and re-live this weekend all over again. Unfortunately, I can't do that. But I can be thankful that I lived this weekend once, and that I still have the memories that I can look back on.
~
I hope everyone has a fun weekend!

A Mix of Things......

I haven't blogged in almost a week, and I thought I would do a little update, even though nothing overly exciting has happened :)

On Friday night, I went over to my friend's house for a little party. I decided to show up in sweatpants (which I rarely do), and it turns out everyone else showed up looking cute! Figures..... But it was a lot of fun, and I got to meet some new people.

On Saturday, I went out with to dinner with my family, and then went to Barnes and Noble. I also had to get some Coldstone ice cream. It was around 17 degrees, but ice cream just sounded SO good - ha!

Today I went to my cousin's birthday party, and other than that I've just been working on homework. :/ I did finish my art project though.

The assignment was to create a poster advertising anything we wanted. I chose to advertise Ocean Grove. They are a great band - and if you've never heard of them, you should check them out! They've got a single out right now called "Our House" that you can download for FREE on their website.

Now that I've done a little run through of my weekend, I have some other things to write about....

I've been reading a blog called Hope in the Waiting for a little while now, and the other day Krista wrote a post about a devotional that she reads. I looked at it, and I decided to buy it too, and I'm so glad I did. I thought I would post about it too in case anyone is interested. This is the link, and you can buy an online version, where they will e-mail you a devotional everyday for a year - for only $10!

This was today's post, to give you a little example:

Well, that's about all I have for now. I can't wait for this week to be over because I am sick of studying for exams.....

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday.........

to my blog!

It's my one year Blogiversary. I can't believe I started my blog a year ago today!

My first post was kind of dumb. I originally wanted to do a 365 blog, but that was too much work, and most of my posts were boring. I'm glad I've cut back and I only blog about fun stuff now :)

The past year has brought a lot of new changes to my life. I hope to make a lot of positive changes in my life throughout the next year as well.

I've seen a lot of people do 101 in 1001, which is where you come up with 101 goals that you want to complete in 1001 days. I've been working on a list, and I hope to post that in the next couple of days. I thought that since it was a new year, and my 1 year blogiversary, it would be a great time to set some goals.

I saw this quote recently, and I thought it kind of went with this post:

"Need a new life? God takes trade-ins."

I'm praying that everyone who reads this post will have a great year, filled with wonderful memories!

New Years

2011

I am always in disbelief when a new year starts.

This New Years Eve was spent a little differently for me. Last year, I went to a party with all of my friends from grade school. This year, I went to a party with friends I just met. It's crazy how much things can change in a year!

On New Years Day, my family went out to Dave and Busters with some friends. It was a lot of fun, and I had the best dinner out there! (mini burgers on Hawaiian sweet rolls = yummy!)

Then we headed to my parents' friends new house for a little while.

I have to go back to school tomorrow, and I am SO dreading it. The time off has been great, and I don't want to have to study for exams and face the cold weather & all that. :/

Saying Goodbye to 2010

Can you believe that 2010 is almost gone already! This year has gone SO fast, but it's been a really good year. Here are some of the highlights of my 2010.....
1. Blogging
First off, I started my blog last year on January 3. I wanted to do a 365 blog, but that was just too much! I'm glad I didn't give up on it completely, and I never thought I would actually like blogging as much as I have!
In January, my parents surprised me with a trip to Chicago to see Nick Jonas! It was possibly one of the best weekends ever. It was so last minute and spontaneous, which made it so much fun! My friend Abby went with me, and we had a blast.

We are going to fast-forward through the rest of winter, up until summer break, because nothing overly excited happened between January and June ;)
3. Mexico Beach, Florida

In June my family took a vacation to Mexico Beach, FL. We went with 2 other families who my parents have known for a very long time. It was a lot of fun! The only downside was that Mexico Beach has very little to offer, besides the beach. I love the beach, but I also love to shop and do other things, and there wasn't a whole lot of that, but we still made it fun :)
4. Washington D.C.

In July my family took another little vacation to Washington D.C. I'd never been there before, and it was a very neat place. There was so much to do, and there really wasn't enough time to see and do everything D.C. has to offer. We were constantly going, and I went to bed exhausted every night, but it was well worth it.
5. Summer Concerts
I don't know if you read my "week of concerts" posts, but in August I went to 3 concerts in a period of 8 days. Yes, I absolutely LOVE going to concerts.
I went to Rascal Flatts.
This was also the day that I won my Jonas Brothers concert tickets!

Then the Jonas Brothers, which was my favorite. No matter how many times I've seen them, they still amazing & just keep getting better!

And, last but not least, Sugarland.

6. Allstar Weekend
In early December I went to the Allstar show, and that was a lot of fun as well :)

7. Christmas
Christmas was great too! I always love Christmas, and this year didn't disappoint.

There have been a lot more memorable days in 2010, as well. I've met some new friends, and made a lot of memories with some old friends as well. Overall, I would label 2010 a SUCCESS.
I'm just praying that I write the same thing about 2011 next year.... :)

Christmas Scrapbooking!

CI've done some digital scrapbooking in the past, and I absolultely love it! So, I had to do some pages with my Christmas pictures :)
