The last few days have been so fun! I've got a bunch of pictures to share too :)
On Monday night I was in a baking mood. I scoured Pinterest and the Internet looking for a new cupcake recipe to try out. I found one and thankfully we had all the ingredients too because I didn't feel like running to the store! I ended up making chocolate cupcakes (from scratch!) and mint buttercream frosting. They turned out really good and yummy. The cake is nice and moist, and I love the mint frosting. All of a sudden mint frostings are my favorite.
I tried out a new piping technique too. Another success! I think they look like roses.
On Tuesday afternoon my mom and I headed downtown to walk around and have lunch. We've been going down there a lot lately because it's so neat now!
We popped into a cupcakery called Abby Girl Sweets. They had a ton cupcakes that all looked really good.
I stuck to a traditional Red Velvet though because I had heard their Red Velvets were really good! It didn't disappoint, but now I'm dying to try out some of their other flavors too!
We had lunch at a little place called the Holy Grail, which is right across from Great American Ballpark. They have an outdoor patio that we sat on because it was such a nice day!
We walked around the new park again too. I'm loving all of these new changes in Cincinnati! I think I've mentioned before that they are building a place called the Banks right on the river. It's got apartments and a few restaurants. Every time I go down there though, I see a sign for a new restaurant coming soon. So fun! I read an article today from the New York Times about all the upcoming changes they have planned too :)
I got a super cute new swimsuit there! This isn't exactly it - the top is pretty much the same, but it's a tankini top. It's hard to tell, but it has some beading on the straps that I thought would be annoying, but that I actually love!
Today my mom and I met my cousins at the zoo. I hadn't been since last year, and I absolutely love going.
It's hard to see, but this is a little baby zebra laying down.
Manatees that wouldn't turn around :)
Merry-go-round!
I wish I would have taken my sunglasses off for this picture.....
I think it's so neat how at our zoo you can feed the giraffes. They literally just walk right up and eat crackers out of your hand! We didn't do it today, but I'd love to do it sometime.
I thought this was the cutest baby camel ever!
What a day! Now I'm off to read a little and work on another cake pop project. Have I mentioned I love to bake? :)
